And so it is...

I am formally trained as a visual artist and art educator, and my more specific art medium are sculpture and installation art. I have always loved fabric and working with tactile materials, and interestingly enough I sort of just started making quilts. This was, in all honesty, something I never thought I would do, even though I found great inspiration in the Quilts of Gee's Bend when I was in grad school. Nevertheless, my best friend and my husband's best friend both were expecting at the same time and it burst into my head that I was going to make baby quilts as gifts for the both of them. I immediately found myself perusing the aisles of the fabric store falling in love with all of the interesting patterns and textures. I made those quilts, I gifted those quilts, and those quilts were loved by everyone! It was a surprise and I was hooked. I made queen size quilts for holiday gifts along with lap size quilts for friends and, last but not least, for my little bed hog; my dog, Murphy.
